He already did screw it up, he said he is even against a spending freeze and thus shown himself to be worse on spending.

Chap, all a spending freeze would do is halt INCREASES in funding levels. Really not even that significant, but the thought of spending even slightly fewer tax dollars enrages the left.

It would be reasonable if freeze meant set to inflation. A plain freeze would basically mean a 6% cut to every government department, no matter the need. A recession is not the time to worry about the deficit. We had time to worry about the deficit the eight years Republicans held power and we had a huge boom.

So fucking what? Do you have any idea how bloated our government is?

I would love a 50% cut to most programs and that STILL wouldn't be enough. All we are doing with a spending freeze is not increasing it.

A recession is not the time to cut spending. Maybe a huge cut in spending coupled with a massive tax break.

except spending for the war in iraq

we have screwed up so much with that war and neglected afghanistan

of course now that iraq has a surplus maybe we can change that to a deficit too

what about the one about going through the budget line by line and eliminating money to bad programs

besides, how about limiting the budget to match inflation

anyway, whoever wins this election will lose because the problems facing the nation will require sacrifice and the spoiled people do not like the sacrifice word

everything is instant gratification

mc wants to lower taxes for the top 5% and bo wants to lower taxes for the bottom 95%

they cannot lower spending without making someone mad - and the people he wants to cut have the money

democracy sucks - we need legislators that have longer terms so they do not have to start running for reelection as soon as they have 'won'

the big money boys always win in the end

ps why are we giving money to the insurance industry
