With unemployment insurance set to expire on Saturday, the White House is seeking to pressure Congress into extending benefits.

While on vacation in Hawaii, Obama called two senators -- Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Dean Heller, R-Nevada -- who are sponsoring a bill to extend the jobless benefits.

lets see... they just passes this 2 yr can down the road kick without it and everyone signed off on ending this foolish unemployment.
but unless they just extend the blank check (and you know they will) they'll just have to go after food stamps some more.

prediction: that massive influx of disabled will continue to be rather close to the number of long term unemployed falling off the govt teat.

You need to research the difference between increased spending and spending that was already in place once a President takes office. Obama hasn't increased spending very much at all. Most of the spending is layover spending. It's why he has the lowest growth spending since 1950

A SNAP cut in november, an unemployment cut in december. "Fiscal responsibility" has nothing to do with class. ;)

Which party had total control of both houses of the Congress in the final years of the last administration Goober? What branch of government actually has total authority when it comes to SPENDING Goober? What party controlling the Congress at the beginning of his administration gave Obama the blank check he’s refused to negotiate every day he’s been in office Goober? What party now in power approves of the 1,5 trillion $ annual deficits and refuses to do anything about them Goober?

Why bother extending unemployment benefits, when the unemployed have already found it so very easy to simply move over to the government's "disability" pot of loot? BTW, all of that loot redistribution is unconstitutional for the federal government to even be involved in, just sayin.

Didn't Obama say he would not rest while Americans needed jobs?

Why do we need long-term unemployment benefits if he's saving the economy and creating jobs?
