WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama on Friday rejected his transportation secretary's suggestion that the administration consider taxing motorists based on how many miles they drive instead of how much gasoline they buy.

"It is not and will not be the policy of the Obama administration," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters, when asked for the president's thoughts about Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood's suggestion, raised in an interview with The Associated Press a daily earlier.

I am thankful for our President's rejection of the proposal. That clown LaHood should be kicked out of the GOP for even suggesting such an invasive, unconstitutional policy as that. It's time to take out the trash.

I'm surprised that you'd oppose LaHood's proposal.

Is it because he is a Republican?

I can't imagine why anyone would support it, honestly.

Of course, kick him out of the party because of a single idea he had somewhere (as if Republicans had not had dumber ideas before), not because he joined the oppositions administration. That's how a Republican thinks.
