Since parties are becoming more unifrom, there really has never been a better time for a third party to start emerging.
Remember, in 1959 97% of ballots in Britian were cast for the major two parties, just like in our last election. In 2005, that's down to barely over 60%. It's because the two parties in Britian went from being broad tent organizations, like needed in a two-party system, to oppressing dissenting members and enforcing party discipline to a tee. Just like our two parties are doing now.
