Russia, which vigorously objected to the Bush-era missile defence shield plan in Europe, has welcomed as "responsible" the move by Barack Obama, the US president, to scrap his predecessor's plan.



Russia scrapped plans to deploy missiles near Poland after President Obama's masterful diplomatic coup.

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Vladimir Popovkin said President Obama's brave move made the deployment of Russian missiles unnecessary.

The Russians don't make determinations about what our defense posture is.

But if the by-product of it is that the Russians feel a little less paranoid, then that's a bonus.
 
you claim obama did this politics....i guess obama lied then when he said he scrapped it because there is a BETTER military system
