Dixie,

I hear Charles Barkley is running for Alabama Gov, I saw him on CNN, I think he would do a great job for Bama. Was wondering if you've heard anything about him down there as of yet even though I think the election for gov is in 2014. Just wondering what you think about it, and if you would consider voting for him. He seems to have a great plan
 
CB has been threatening to run for governor since before he retired from the NBA. He might actually have a shot at winning, with the name recognition and all. I know he is a Democrat, but I have not heard anything specific on what his plans would be, or what he would do as governor, so I can't tell you if I would vote for him or not. By 2014, I may very well not be living in Alabama anymore. In fact, I may not even be in the States.

A pro-choice, pro-gay marriage INDEPENDENT running for governor of Alabama has a shot? Yeah. Yeah right, I mean. All he will do is take all the black vote away from the Democrats and insure a Republican governorship. He may as well be financed by the Republicans, who can't win on the strength of their candidates and need to rely on dirty tricks.
 
Waterhead, why must you interject race here? Are you a racist? Do you think it matters to me that Obama is half black? I really don't care if he is black, blue, purple or green, he is a liberal... a tax and spend liberal, who believes in socialism as an answer to our problems. Not only that, but he also has some questionable ties to radicals and terrorists, which could spell danger for America if he is elected to power. If a white Republican had those kind of skeletons in his closet, he would have been run completely out of politics by now, and probably out of the country.

This has nothing to do with race, from my perspective, and it's amazing, the ONLY people who have even brought up race in this election, are LIBERAL DEMOCRATS! Over and over and over and over and over again... you people just won't stop with the racism shit, and it's really gotten quite old. You are welcome to think what you want, I think I can see who is obsessed with race, and it ain't me.

Including the most liberal Senator in the US Senate. ;) I can't figure out if that is their excuse if they should fail to win the inevitable or they are building a case for incarcerating 1/2 the population on some new hate crime charge?

Wait a minute. How can that be. I thought John Kerry was the most liberal Senator......and before him Al Gore had a reocord of having been the most liberal senator.....which brings up the point...what the hell is wrong with being a liberal? Most of greatest advances in our nations history in economics, politics and governance has been due to liberals. Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Monroe, Madison, Jackson, FDR, Trueman, Kennedy were all liberals and Lincoln and TR were both progressives.

Name one great conservative President? Just one? Best you can do is an average President in Regan who's legacy of debt is indicating that maybe he wasn't as good as many people thought he was now that this issue coming back to bite us in the Ass.

How comes the list of our very worst Presidents is a who's who of Conservatives.

Pierce, Buchanon, Cooledge, Grant, Nixon, George W, Harding, Hooever.....all conservatives and all terrible Presidents.

Conservatives have been the ones to consistantly fuck things up. Whats right with being a conservative?

Hell after Bush's performance calling Obama the most liberal senator is really a damned good reason to vote for him. After Bush what rational person would vote for some half assed reactionary incompetent conservative who wants to turn the clock back to a conservative never never land?

Given the horrible track record of conservative Presidents, what's right with being a conservative? Why should the public even consider voting for a conservative given their history of being incompetent fuck ups?
