GRAPEVINE (AP) — Federal agents descended on the North Texas headquarters of television evangelist Benny Hinn and took boxes out of the offices.
The search began about 9 a.m. Wednesday at Hinn’s headquarters in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Grapevine, near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. According to Hinn’s website, he was in Paris.
Lisa Slimak, spokeswoman for the U.S. attorney’s office in Dallas, said she was unable to confirm or deny the existence of an investigation. A message sent to Bennie Hinn Ministries went unanswered.
Hinn was one of six television evangelists investigated by the Senate Finance Committee in 2007. Three years later, the six were cleared of any wrongdoing.
God luvs you....but send your money to my address. What's new about the hypocrisy of fake TV Evangelists? There's nothing new under the sun. That's why its the duty of all Christians to study, ".....be diligent to present yourself approved of God, a worker who needs not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and idle babblings for they will increase to more ungodliness." -- 2 Tim 2:14-18
Christians are warned against those who preach and teach things not found in the word of God, "If anyone speaks let him speak as the oracles (laws, words) of God. If anyone ministers let him do it with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion for ever and ever....ahem." -- 1 Peter 4:11
In order to be prepared against Con Artists and the false teachings they provide every Christian is admonished to UNDERSTAND THE WILL OF GOD. -- Eph. 5:17
The ministry that you describe fits exactly the warning found in scripture, "For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, ALWAYS LEARNING BUT NEVER ABLE TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH." -- 2 Tim. 3:6-7
There are a great many simple, gullible, trusting people out there that tune their ears only toward the things they want to hear that benefits them (they assume).....such as a promise by a TV preacher telling them if they sow a seed of dollars it will come back to them 10 fold...etc., just send your money to the address provided, "...for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears they will heap up to themselves teachers; and they will turn ears away from the truth, and be turned aside by fables." -- 2 Tim. 4:3-4
Christians are promised nothing extra in this life...the same rain falls on everyone, The reward for a Christian comes after the race (of life) is run...until such time we all share this reality called LIFE. If you are expecting God to make a favor for you...you have not studied and rightly divided the word of truth.
