Trump already is greatly harming the ability of all down ballot candidates to raise money because he is drawing in so much for his personal use. He has taken over the RNC, which historically was the main way down ballot candidates, especially those in swing States or vulnerable seats, could and would receive financial support. Kevin McCarthy is gone, who was a prodigious fund raiser, who would help key down ballot races and Mike Johnson has shown no strength yet in this area.

And now, AND NOW, Trump wants those down ballot candidates, who will largely be left on their own to raise funds, and almost certainly struggle to get enough, especially compared to prior years and those they are running against, to send from any money they raise a MINIMUM of 5% up to Trump if they use his image or reference him in any way.

Trump campaign asks for cut of candidates’ fundraising when they use his name and likeness

Former President Donald Trump’s campaign has found a new way to press for badly needed cash.

In a letter received by Republican digital vendors this week, the Trump campaign is asking for down-ballot candidates who use his name, image and likeness in fundraising appeals to give at least 5 percent of the proceeds to the campaign.

“Beginning tomorrow, we ask that all candidates and committees who choose to use President Trump’s name, image, and likeness split a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC. This includes but is not limited to sending to the house file, prospecting vendors, and advertising,” Trump co-campaign managers Susie Wiles and Chris LaCivita wrote in the letter, which is dated April 15.

They add: “Any split that is higher than 5% will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump’s campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”...

I love it. Trump is the conman who just cannot help himself. He cannot simply say 'yes for the good of all of us in the party, since we need to win, feel free to use my image or statements, if it will help you win' and instead, Trump has to look where each and every dollar flows and how he can demand a cut of it.

it is so awesome. He sticks his tiny hands in every pocket and down the front of your pants looking to grab it all.
