Agreed. I have a lot of his stuff on my playlist. Mostly the Eastwood movies, but also "Once Upon a Time in the West", "The Thing" and "The Untouchables".
Another favorite was James Horner ("Glory" and "Aliens"), although not as great or well known as Morricone. Horner died in 2015 after he smacked into the ground while flat-hatting in his Short Tucano.
