Mass Grave Discovered Near Baghdad

Feb 5, 12:20 PM (ET)

BAGHDAD (AP) - About 50 dead bodies were discovered Tuesday in a mass grave northwest of Baghdad, Iraqi officials said.

U.S.-backed Sunni tribesmen found the grave while patrolling the village of Jazeerah, 15 miles west of Samarra near Lake Tharthar, said Col. Mazin Younis Hussein, commander of the Samarra support force, a group of local men working with U.S. forces.

Some of the bodies were severely decomposed, suggesting they had been buried months ago, while other victims appeared to have been killed recently, said Samarra police Lt. Muthana Shakir, who visited the site Tuesday and saw the bodies.

As many as 200 bodies have been unearthed in recent months from mass graves around Lake Tharthar. Al-Qaida in Iraq controlled the area, as well as huge swaths of Iraq's western deserts, until being ousted early this year in an uprising by local tribes.

Nothing humerous about this at all.

Just that getting Sadam our did not halt this type of thing.
And it still goes on while under US control.

The Iraqi people do not want to outside forces coming in to their country and fighting with each other. The Iraqi people want both Al-Queda and the US out. Just as the Saudi people didn't want us on their lands in '91.

Another reason why they are fighting Al Queda. The sooner Al Queda is gone, the sooner they get rid of us.

They won't get rid of us... we'll be there for years to come. If the reason they are fighting Al Queda is because America is arrogant and won't budge, then no wonder Al Queda is able to recruit.

They are not fighting Al Queda because America is arrogant. That makes no sense and it most certainly isn't what I said.

They are fighting Al Queda because they are tired of the brutal tactics Al Queda was using on the Iraqi people. They also understand that we are there in force until we destroy Al Queda. They know that once they quell Al Queda's support and run them out of Iraq, we will begin troop withdrawals.

Yes, we are likely to have a base and will likely be there many years to come.... but the bulk of our forces will be gone once Al Queda is gone.

No, you didn't say that, but that is what we are if we just use their land to fight our wars, and they know we don't give a shit what they think so they have to fight Al Queda to get rid of us. But, the truth is there are just as many Iraqis fighting alongside Al Queda because we are the occupiers. Even though they hate Al Queda, they hate us more, and Al Queda grows.

Did you read the story? This is the reason that Iraqis started going after them. Read it again, uscit, try to find out who "controlled" the area recently.
