"LAS VEGAS — Patrick Mahomes Sr. was driving with an open 16-ounce Coors beer in the center console shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday when he was stopped by police and arrested for driving while intoxicated, according to an affidavit obtained by The Post from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.

Mahomes, whose son will quarterback the Chiefs against the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, told police that he “had a few beers while watching a game at a local bar” when asked why he was drinking while driving, per the affidavit.

It was the third DWI for Mahomes, a former MLB pitcher who spent time with the Mets.

He was also cited in 2008 and 2019, per police records."

In Nevada, a 3rd DUI within a 7-year time frame is treated as a category B felony. If convicted, you face a mandatory 1 to 6 years in state prison and fines ranging from $2000.00 to $5000.00.

I don’t know where his first two DUI’s were but in Nevada, you go to jail.

He does not need to be driving.
