When I tried an alternative opening recently to see what works, it kept saying that it was a "Saragossa Opening". So I thought what the hell is that?

The Saragossa Opening is a chess opening defined by the opening move:

1. c3

Since White usually plays more aggressively in the opening, the Saragossa is considered an irregular opening, classified as A00 by the Encyclopaedia of Chess Openings.

Interesting. Basically they are so used to the openings, any other kinds of openings take them off track, which is a good strategy. Think the Art of War.

After I open with that, I always make a few juicy openings/moves, confusing them. Most of the time It's a success.
