screw the polls, or the popular vote, it is the electoral vote that counts

what is the electoral vote looking like, does any poll say?

I can understand the conservative gut reaction you're having hear. You hate democracy, you think people in big states should be punished because of where they live. But it's very unusual for the popular vote to not reflect itself in the electoral vote. It's sort of how technically a system of single member districts may elect a majority with a minority of votes, but it rarely happens. The popular vote just tends to make a landslide inevitable. The extra votes the small states are given have little overall effect, and are effectively nullified by the fact that big states cast so many votes at once.

And there are state by state polls for practically every state except the ones that are extremely safe. Obama landslides, obviously, even moreso than in the popular vote tally's. Mainly because of the winner take all effect - it's usually just an exaggerated popular vote.
