Is the 30 minute infomercial by Obama a good idea this close to the end, or is it too much? Will it help or hurt? Will it make any difference at all?

That's a real good question. He's obviously appealing to a (I would assume) small percentage of voters that may still be undecided or are leaning one way but could be converted (or leaning towards him and making them more comfortable).

Damn, I have no idea.

Ok my panic aside, this was a really good night for Obama. The spot was well done, well written and included lots of ordinary people, you know sort of like Joe the Plumber but they didn't lie about who they were. A fomer General, and some family stuff. Only Dixie and Bottlebore will hate it.

you actually watched it?

Ronnie did it too - I'm sure this helped some see Obama as a real person concerned with America. For the cynics on the right, their abysmal failures since Reagan speak for themselves and require a 'new morning' or in today's slogan 'change.'

"The tone and texture recalled the ‘morning in America’ campaign film made on behalf of Ronald Reagan, a work designed to give the audience a sense of security and satisfaction; things are going to be all right.”

The ad was great - much better than I expected. It was Obama at his best, tying stories from real people who are struggling with details on his own proposals.

His focus on issues & solutions stood in stark contrast to the McCain campaign yesterday, which was still obsessed with "new" radical ties Obama might have and socialism.
