Better late than never I suppose. Some seven years after it happened, Snopes has finally gotten around to fact-checking what would become the entire basis of Joe Biden's presidency.

Biden has repeatedly claimed that he decided to run against Donald Trump because the former president supposedly praised the neo-nazis present at Charlottesville in 2017. At issue was a comment about "very fine people on both sides" that Trump made while reacting to the incident. Biden took that and made it the centerpiece of his campaign announcement, with the first words coming out of his mouth being "Charlottesville, Virginia."

How simple are you people exactly? It's not about the right believing them. It's about you idiots believing them. A decidedly left wing source finally acknowledges trump didn't say what you cockroaches attributed to him. Will you continue to believe snopes? Nothing was delayed but cognition on your side of all this. Other sources, including CNN, argued (not "admitted") almost at the time that the comment did not necessarily imply praise of racists. By "both sides" Trump reasonably meant both those in favor and against removing the statue whatever their motivations were.

For you word hawks, since Snopes did not make the claim Trump praised racists Snopes could not "admit" the claim was wrong.
 
Trump people are trying to say the march was about the RE Lee statue. It went way past that. Lee is no hero to the Nazis who were the demonstrators. The chants of" Jews will not replace us" was not about the statue. Nor were the people who went violent acting for the statue. They were showing that they backed Trump and his Fascism.
