Chinese coast guard and military vessels just seized several Philippine navy ships being sent to resupply Scarborough Shoal (other name used in article), that is PI claimed territorial waters. This is a major upping of tensions between the two nations.

This is the kind of stuff that happens in a country, where the leader of the country, has no real control over his own military.

China's Military just does what it wants without Xi's approval. Intentionally ramming a ship at sea, is stupid and very dangerous to both ships.

This was an unprovoked spontaneous act, by the captain of the Chinese naval vessel, and he will most likely face punishment for his actions.

No Chinese commanders at home base would ever approve of something so stupid as this either.

What happened is the stupid captain was trying to intimidate the Philippine boat, and got too close, and was unable to avoid the collision. Russia has been playing these same intimidation games with the US Navy, but so far, they have never rammed ours or any other vessels.
This Chinese captain was just a reckless idiot! No telling how much damage was caused to both vessels! One Philippine Sailor was seriously hurt in the incident.

But, China does believe they own the South China Sea, that Vietnam and the Philippines must also use, so NO, CHINA DOES NOT OWN IT!
