State of emergency over high crime rate New Mexico City

Walk around barefooted; the shoulders of the highways and most city streets are literally covered with discarded hypodermic needles tossed away by the dopers. You will love the place.
I generally do not walk on roadsides or barefoot. Ill be fine. Thanks for your concern.

The entire highway between LA and Las Vegas via Barstow is the same. Disgusting. Don't ever get out and walk your dog or let your kids out of the car anywhere on a major road in California or New Mexico; no telling what diseases they will pick up.

Ive seen it in Houston, its in every large city in the United States. Heck, Ive seen hypodermic needles on the street in Stuart, Florida.

Federal troops
How many times do I have to explain this to alt right posters? I assumed all of you joined the National Guard to avoid the draft, so would know what the National Guard is.

One more time: The National Guard is NOT "federal troops", or at least not most of the time federal troops. They can be federalized by the president, but that did not happen in this case. When under the command of the state governor, like now, they are state troops, and.... Let's all say it together... STATE LAW ENFORCEMENT!!!

A governor has the right to call up the National Guard to help the police. Many southern states will call up the National Guard every year to help track down drug and alcohol producing. It does not break the Posse Comitatus Act.

Federal troops are in New Mexico enforcing the laws as we speak, in every border state.

WHAT WE DO

The NMNG is the sustainable force that is ready to support the community and execute all Federal and State missions.

All Guard units are essentially Federalized now, and also guarding our borders. If you were an American you would know that.

All members of the National Guard are also members of the organized militia of the United States as defined by 10 U.S.C. § 246. National Guard units are under the dual control of U.S. state governments and the U.S. federal government.

That would be a violation of the Posse Comitatus Act. trump has been able to get around it by stationing federal troops on the border in a support role, NOT A LAW ENFORCEMENT ROLE. Whether this is enough of a fudge to get around the law is anyone's guess, but it is his fudge.

As for Governor Grisham, she does not need to get around the law. The National Guard, under her command, is considered the law enforcement agency, much like the State Troopers. Both groups descend from the state militias.

Most guard units are not even called up, much less federalized.

Yes, it is dual command. Under the command of the governor, they can do law enforcement all they want. They are not operating as federal troops.

Keep tossing out strawmen. It only makes you look dumber.
