Stock market today: Nasdaq falls 6%, Dow loses 1,700 points, S&P 500 drops 5% as markets crumble

The S&P 500 (GSPC) dropped over 5%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite (IXIC) tumbled nearly 6%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average (^DJI) fell nearly 1,800 points, or more than 4.5%. The 10-year Treasury yield, (^TNX) in high focus amid bond market whiplash, fell to around 4.37%.
