The 22nd amendment should be removed

The options for American voters should not be limited by artificial term limits.

If the president is a very good president we shouldn't be denied his leadership for some arbitrary rule.

Term limits are a horrible idea, this is why we have the power to vote, if someone is not performing their duties we simply vote them out of office, they shouldn't have to be removed if they are wanted by the majority of the people.

Term limits are an admission that the democratic ideal/impulse has failed....it is an admission of failure.

Exactly like thread bans.

Some of us do better.

It seems like only yesterday that you were supporting term limits for members of Congress.

The underlying and hidden attempt to eliminate representative democracy is an evil scheme perpetrated by BOTH parties. By their actions and will, they've been allowed to dumb down America in order to maintain their power and to steal, extort, and bribe the idiots of today of their wealth potential, then blame the other side so that you idiots fight each other as they sit back, enrich themselves at our expense, and laugh their collective asses off at the morons who support and vote for them to continue

Y’all do realize that it was a Republican political movement that lead to the passage of the 22nd amendment?

This is one area in which we totally agree.

From my progressive liberal standards, which are quite different from that of the woman with whom I'm agreeing,
FDR was our greatest ever president.

The American people got to elect him four times.

How about the age and citizen at birth requirement?

The same reason you give could be used to eliminate both of those as well

You really think that would go through Congress?

Amendments are not for congress to decide on its own.

Further, we don't know what would go through congress.

Depending which major party controls it,

one congress could be radically different than the one before or after it.

Our government, deliberately designed to be inefficient because nobody envisioned how polarized we would eventually get,
doesn't do much on a national level unless both chambers of the legislature and the POTUS
are on the same page.

Good luck with it. :)

It's amazing how many people engage in fruitless endeavors when there are so many other things that can and should be done. Sad.
