The False and Idolatrous Narrative of 'American Christianity'

Guno צְבִי

We fight, We win
During the brutal colonization of this land, most white people who claimed Christianity ruthlessly enforced their power using violence and dehumanization, politically and spiritually rationalizing everything as part of “manifest destiny.”

Later, slave owners would manipulate the Bible to mandate subservience, and white Christendom would continue to apply a mixture of scripture and theology — heavily reinforced with brutality — to maintain control of their financial, political, and social rule.

We don’t need more evidence that shows white conservative Christendom — especially the kind that is built on nationalistic and patriarchal structures — is oppressive

I'm fairly sure that the "Christians" who gleefully exterminated the indigenous people so that they could take their land and resources were no more Christian than the fundie evangelicals are today. Like the evangelical Xtians (and other fundie faiths too), those pioneer ppl and slave owners used the Bible to justify their actions. It's been going on for 2,000 years.

Our settlers in Patagonia got on very well with the Techuel Che who lived there, but the latter were always baffled by one thing. 'What we don't understand', they said, 'is why you call yourselves Christians. You are good people, but Christians are horrible people who want to kill us'. Most of my family left when they started calling them up for the Argentine army when they were planning genocide. Only two people speak Techuel-Che at the last count!

This is so sad. We have lost so much richness and diversity just within our own species.
