The Politics of Delusion Have Taken Hold

Democrats and Republicans were both more likely to believe news about the value-upholding behavior of their in-group or the value-undermining behavior of their out-group. Republicans were more likely to believe and want to share political fake news.

The embodiment of delusional politics is, of course, Donald Trump, with his false, indeed fraudulent, claim that the 2020 election was stolen from him. The continuing willingness of a majority of Republican voters to tolerate this delusion reflects the difficulty facing the nation as it struggles to restore sanity to American politics — if it’s not too late.

there is no sanity in american politics.......especially with the left base as can easily be proven by listening to Barack Obama tell the listening liberals that Hillary Clinton would say anything and change nothing, thus convincing tens of millions of brain dead liberals to vote for him over hillary, then 8 years later listened to obama tell them that nobody was more qualified EVER to be president than hillary..................and the liberal base believed it
