We fight, We win
The party leaders adopted a new rule allowing central committees — statewide and local governing bodies, similar to boards of directors — to punish elected Republicans who deviate from the GOP platform. They also eliminated voting authority on the party’s executive committee for three groups that represent Republican women and young voters. And GOP leaders endorsed a plan to hold a caucus next year to select a Republican nominee for president.

Well if you want to be a part of the Republican Party it makes sense that you follow their platform.

Not sure what the issue here is.

Why not make room for differing opinions, especially when it is women and youth, two groups Republicans are losing voters from?

Because that’s not how organizations function. A political party has a set of beliefs they follow, that’s what identifies them as their party so if a person wants to join that organization they are saying they agree with their platform.

You shouldn’t come in and what to change what the party stands for, if you do then join a different party or remain independent.

And as I stated, if you wish to expand your membership you have to be open to new ideas. It’s why the GOP is losing members.

Im happy they are losing votes. I hope they continue to lose votes!

Then they won’t be republicans anymore and a new Republican Party will just form to replace them.

That’s what happened to the Whig party, they opened themselves up to new ideas and ended up becoming a consulted mess of differing ideas which led to the formation of the republicans who swiftly replaced them.

Republican members are free not to vote with their party on issues they don’t agree with but they shouldn’t be trying to change the core tenants of what the party stands for.

This is the exact way every political party operates, not just the republicans.

28 states now have a legislature with a supermajority for the dominant party (ability to override a veto) allowing the majority party to pass any laws it chooses.

And this is also why we have an extensive court system to challenge those laws.

That is not the platform. It is also no way to grow the party. The Repub party of today is on his last breaths. it is old and is against gays, LGBT, environmental regulation, and abortion rights and wants to step on minorities. They apparently have calculated they can win THIS election cycle with that. If they get in they will have to be brutal to get future power.

So?

NONE can pass any law it chooses. All laws in any State MUST conform to the Constitution of the United States and the constitution of that State.

This isn't a democracy, dumbass.

You wish. Too bad you are hallucinating.

Have you ever heard of checks and balances? The legislature can pass any law it chooses but the courts can find that law unconstitutional if it does not conform to the federal and state constitutions.

Learn some basic American government.

Slogans won't help you when you are discarding the Constitution.

NO IT CAN'T!

I'm glad you agree with the Supreme Court decision throwing out the legislative supremacy theory on making laws about elections without court interference. We both agree that was a stupid right-wing theory completely disregarding the Constitution.

Trump is not disregarding the Constitution. YOU are...just like the DEMOCRATS.
