U.S. Representative Darrell Issa announced that he has introduced legislation that would use the saving from eliminating Saturday postal delivery to restore cost-of-living adjustments for military retirees that were cut in last year’s budget act.

While I admire the gesture, that does not address the huge deficit the USPS runs every year. They need to drop Sat mail and more just to get solvent. If going to two day a week delivery (Mon-THUR TUE-FRI) then maybe dropping sat would cover all the bases.

Could drop pennies and 1 dollar bills and save more than people guess. Leaves a spot in the till for dollar coins and idiot retail people may do better making change.

As a military retiree, my COLA will be restored.

It will?

The new pension cuts affect military veterans under age 62 who've retired after serving 20 years or more in the armed forces.

They would see their annual pension increases trimmed by 1 percentage point.

But it will affect many of my shipmates....

And why should I give a shit about saturday mail delivery?
