The Trump campaign, however, says the comments, made at the event hosted by the conservative group Turning Point Action, were about how Trump would unite the country. Asked to clarify what Trump meant, Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the campaign, said in a statement on Saturday that the former president “was talking about uniting this country and bringing prosperity to every American, as opposed to the divisive political environment that has sowed so much division and even resulted in an assassination attempt.”

That is not an explanation.

Cleaning up after Trump's messes is akin to the guys who have to clean up the monkey poop at the zoo.

Trump is stupid and shows it nearly every time he talks. After he speaks the left shows how insane his talk was. The rightys mobilize into a defense force trying to find a way, any way to explain his gaffes away. They try a few and check the reactions. They know the people Trump conned do not need much convincing, but the fence sitters do.
I cannot imagine how the rightys can explain away Trump telling his audience will not have to vote again. But they need just enough to keep the conned in the cult.

Interesting how many of Trump’s comments have to be “explained” by MaraLago after he makes them

And I can’t be askedenough, if elected, who would stop Trump from doing anything he wanted, or even question his actions? Certainly not the cult, his cabinet, the GOP, the SCOTUS, the right wing media, in fact, all so those entities will support and defend him regardless.
