Trump: ‘Joe Biden puts illegal aliens before homeless veterans’

2024 Election

PALM BEACH, Fla. – Former President Donald Trump blasted President Joe Biden, claiming he was putting illegal aliens over homeless veterans in remarks on Truth Social.

“Under crooked Joe Biden, the U.S. government has spent nearly $1 billion to house illegal aliens and foreign migrants in expensive luxury hotels courtesy of you the American taxpayer, and they want to spend billions and billions more,” Trump said.

Trump asserted states were running out of hotel space due to rooms being booked by illegal aliens. The current GOP front-runner also vowed to take care of the 33,000 homeless veterans in the United States if elected president.

In September, New York City Mayor Eric Adams iterated the migrant crisis would destroy the city. The mayor also claimed 10,000 migrants a month were coming to the Big Apple.

“This national scandal will end on day one,” Trump said. “I will sign an executive order to cut off Joe Biden’s massive spigot of funding for shelter and transport of illegal aliens and redirect a portion of those savings, a very large portion I might add to provide shelter and treatment for homeless American veterans.”

While calling the American veteran “one of our greats”, Trump promised to eradicate veteran homelessness by the end of his next term. He also touted his accomplishments, including with Veteran’s Affairs.

“The border was the best border we’ve ever had. We were energy independent. We were soon going to be energy dominant,” Trump remarked. “Our country was doing great. We had no inflation. We had the best economy in history.”

Trump lamented Joe Biden and the “radical left democrats” for betraying veterans. He also criticized anyone voting for a Democrat as “very foolish”.

“We certainly will not be putting illegal alien law breakers up in ultimate luxury while American Veterans lay shivering on the sidewalks below,” Trump said. “Unlike Biden, our loyalty will not be to illegal aliens who have violated our borders and come into our country illegally.”

According to statistics from U.S. Customs and Border Protection, agents encountered nearly 270,000 migrants in the month of September. Contacts made over the month were the highest in recorded history.

In addition, 2.48 million encounters occurred in Fiscal Year 2023. That mark is also the highest annual total ever documented in a single year.

Since Biden took office, 6.2 million illegal immigrants have crossed over the Southern Border. According to U.S. Census Bureau data, Maryland’s population is just under a combined 6.2 million.

“They’ve trampled our sovereignty. It will be to the brave men and women who enlisted their lives to defend our borders and to protect our sovereignty,” Trump continued.

It's pathetic that any American citizen should be homeless while illegals are housed and supported...but particularly veterans...

Indeed, it is an indication of the disdain for veterans by this administration...that and the 13 servicemen killed in Afghanistan too.
