Trump jury trial to begin in August

It appears that special counsel Jack Smith may get his wish to give former President Donald Trump a speedy trial.

Law and Crime News' Adam Klasfeld reports that the jury trial in the Trump Mar-a-Lago documents case is set to begin on August 14th, 2021 under Judge Aileen Cannon.

Lawyers for both the prosecution and defense must also file their in limine motions aimed at potentially excluding certain evidence by July 24th.

Trump was indicted earlier this month on 37 felony counts related to willful retention of national defense information and obstruction of justice.

Trump currently faces a slew of legal problems, including a civil lawsuit over allegedly fraudulent business practices from New York Attorney General Letitia James; criminal charges related to his hush-money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels; criminal charges related to his decision to stash top-secret government documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort; and two different investigations into his efforts to illegally remain in power after losing the 2020 election to President Joe Biden.

Donnie was trying so hard to delay this trial until after the election, he lost. Now let's hope it is televised.
 
It would actually be pretty funny to watch Republicans nominate someone who is incarcerated in a prison cell
 
The judge seems to not be in Trump’s pocket on this one. Will she try to stifle his delays?

Because I have never heard of those thangs' before! And I don't believe anyone else has either.

We know there are audio recordings, video recordings, email and texts. Then we have Mr. Trumps big mouth which digs him in deeper each time he gives an interview.

You have just one saving grace, lets see how that is dealt with.

One of the best days of my life, besides when the talking pig in pant suit kicks the bucket, will be trumps acquittal. I feel horrible that I would take such pleasure in other people's misery but leftists arent people so it's all good.
