Former President Donald J. Trump went into sales-pitch mode immediately after Tuesday night’s debate, walking into the spin room to extol his own performance, crowing on Fox News and going on a late-night posting spree to hype unscientific online polls that he said showed he had crushed Vice President Kamala Harris.

“That was my best Debate, EVER, especially since it was THREE ON ONE!” Mr. Trump posted on Truth Social, minutes after the debate ended, referring to the two ABC News moderators.

An exception was the recent Trump endorser Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

“Vice President Harris clearly won the debate in terms of her delivery, her polish, her organization and her preparation,” Mr. Kennedy said on Fox News on Wednesday, adding that while Mr. Trump “wins” on substance, “he didn’t tell that story.”

Trump, Republicans play blame game after debate​

...Republicans took issue with Trump’s advisers, arguing he was ill-prepared for the showdown, while others said it was the candidate himself who failed to aggressively tie Harris to President Biden until the closing moments of the debate.

“It was an incredibly typical performance on his part when he’s unprepared,” former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was a key part of Trump’s debate prep teams in 2016 and 2020, said on “Good Morning America.”

“It’s clear he didn’t have anyone who would smack him around during prep this time, because he went out there and just did whatever the heck he wanted, straight from his instinct and his gut, which is to be angry and a grievance candidate,” Christie added.

I have read/listened to enough to conclude that Trumps over optimism problem got him again. Trump did not expect that the Regime would go to such length to destabilize him (almost certainly designed by CIA psych experts). He was also thrown by what seems to be the fact that Harris has long done Trumps program of encouraging people to underestimate her....for instance that Harris Dumb is an act. Trump I think only saw his error on stage. Harris the drunk is also likely an act.
 
Yes, there is absolutely no chance that Harris did not know long before hand the questions. This was stagecraft, this was a diabolical get Trump mission designed by experts, with the questions the answers and the stage directions all supplied to Harris.

Except for Trump this was a Regime Performance.

House Republicans are bemoaning former President Trump’s performance in the first — and potentially only — debate against Vice President Harris, acknowledging that the Democratic nominee successfully got under her GOP opponent’s skin.

Several times throughout the more than 90-minute debate in Philadelphia, Harris appeared to try to bait Trump with attacks on matters that hit close to home — the size of his rallies, the magnitude of his family fortune, world leaders “laughing” at him — in an effort to thwart his composed posture. Some House Republicans say she succeeded.

“I’m just sad,” one House Republican who is supportive of Trump told The Hill. “She knew exactly where to cut to get under his skin. Just overall disappointing that he isn’t being more composed like the first debate.”

“The road just got very narrow,” they added. “This is not good.”

Trump talked about immigration for nearly the whole time. Harris mentioned he stopped the immigration bill so he had something to run on. Trump proved that was true.
Wjhen Trum[p lied about renewable energy and said Germany stopped building it, he was corrected. The German Foreign Office said they were shutting down coal plants and building renewable energy. It provides for over 50 percent of their energy now. Trump keeps on lying. His followers keep on buying.
