Former president Donald Trump’s description Wednesday of Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group that recently attacked Israel, as “very smart” drew criticism from 2024 GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis, who called his rival’s choice of words “absurd.”

Trump made the comments while speaking at a Club 47 event in West Palm Beach during which Florida Republican congressman Matt Gaetz also addressed the crowd.

During his speech, Trump continued to insist that President Joe Biden is to blame for the deadly conflict between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas simply because he is now president and Trump isn’t.


Unsurprisingly, Trump has also used the Middle East crisis to gin up fears about immigration through the U.S.--Mexico border.

“The same people that raided Israel are pouring into our once beautiful USA, through our TOTALLY OPEN SOUTHERN BORDER, at Record Numbers,” Trump claimed baselessly in a Truth Social post Monday. “Are they planning an attack within our Country? Crooked Joe Biden and his BOSS, Barack Hussein Obama, did this to us!”

Well, Trump is often full of shit with what he says, but he also gets some things right.

The southern border is wide open, and there are lots and lots of people coming across that could be very dangerous to the US. This includes:

A known 72,000 + persons who are suspect from countries.
About 100 known terrorists caught, that's six times any other administration's number in any given year with about another 20 per day suspected or on watch lists.
Another almost 13,000 year-to-date, known felons / criminals have been caught trying to enter in 2023

Imagine having the equivalent of the population of Springfield Illinois, the state's capitol, consisting of nothing but criminals, terrorists, and questionable people walking into the US in a year...

That's what's currently happening on our southern border and Joke isn't doing a goddamned thing to stop or slow it down. That is a HUGE problem.

He applauds Netanyahoo's intelligence and leadership. However, every European country is led by a 3rd rater. If he is challenged by anyone, they are stupid, liars and working for 4th rate ,failing companies.
Trump shows who he is and his followers refuse to see it. Trump is a teenage bully in a size 50 suit.

Trump knew in 2016, the media would look at his history and likely be very critical of him, so he went on a campaign to discredit them and lower peoples view of them.

Once i office, Trump knew the FBI and other agencies would be the ones to challenge him, so he went on campaigns to discredit them and lower peoples view of them.

He also knows, that if he is ever able to pull of his coup, that it will european countries and other allies and the UN who will be most vocal against him, so he has been on a campaign to discredit them all and lower peoples view of them.


He praises Putin, Xi, Kim, Hezbollah, et al, as they would cheer on and praise him, if he over throws the American gov't and sets America back as a country to third world status.

Trump knows his audiences and where he can go for both votes and cheers for his worst contemplated actions.

Agreed. Trump would have negotiated them away.

He already had Rudy in Ukraine, pressuring Zelenski to put the Putin's Oligarch back in power over largest Ukraine oil fields, like they were prior to Ukraine kicking them all out. This time Rudy and Trump would be cut in to the pilfering of that wealth.

Trump would continued to pressure Ukraine to both 'investigate Biden' and give over its OIl wealth with the threat of siding with Russia and likely escalating to threatening to call Ukraine a terrorist nation or the like, in the same way they did that to our ally Qatar, who Trump threatened as terrorism until they arranged for the $2B check to be cut to Kushner.
