Tax reform (Fair Tax Act), gay marriages approved, drug laws reformed, and get us out of Iraq.
 
It's a given that we are not leaving Iraq. The best we can hope for is that we will retire to our bases and leave security to Iraq.

I don't suspect any change in Afghanistan, maybe a troop surge.

I would like to see him immediately create a commission on closing Gitmo.
 
I just read an article in my local paper how 92% of the inmates in the county jail are substance abusers. I can see multiple DUI's, but people simply using drugs shouldn't be filling our jails, especially when I know of a few specific, violent, assholes are still walking the streets. Hopefully, the Dems work to change that whole attitude that we need to fill our jails with non-violent criminals. Closing down a few jails can save us some money!

A number of years ago, there was a big push for mandatory sentencing for drug offenders. The judges have little leeway in many cases, and there are strict guidelines about early releases.

Consequently, when prisons are overfilled, they release violent felons because they are allowed to do so, but are not allowed to release drug offenders.



They need to make violent offenders the priority in staying locked up. Let the dope smokers go home.

It would be amazing to see if Obama actually continues supporting the Drug War, since its such a racist policy.
