An Upstate New York native was pardoned by President Donald Trump after his mother donated $1 million to Make America Great Again Inc., according to a new report.
The Buffalo News reports Elizabeth Fago gave $1 million to the MAGA super PAC that supports Trump on April 3, 2025. Twenty days later, Trump signed a full pardon for Fago’s son Paul Walczak II, who was born in Amherst, N.Y.
Walczak, 55, was sentenced last year to serve 18 months in prison and pay $4.4 million in restitution to the U.S. after willfully failing to pay more than $10 million in income tax and employment taxes. The Department of Justice said he withheld nearly $7.5 million in taxes from workers at his health care companies but did not pay those over to the IRS.
The New York Times reported that Fago spent $1 million to attend a fundraiser at Mar-A-Lago in early April. Trump pardoned her son on April 23, allowing him to also avoid paying restitution.
