WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Former Winston-Salem City Councilman Vernon Robinson announced Wednesday his intention to faceoff once again against 13th District Rep. Brad Miller.
Miller, a five-term Democrat, defeated Robinson in the 2006 race for the same seat.
Republicans are redrawing district lines across the state, with the 13th adding Republican-heavy Surry and Stokes counties in their current proposal. Kernersville would also be added to the 13th District.
"The new 13th is a dream district for Vernon Robinson's rematch against Congressman Brad Miller. It includes five whole counties and parts of nine counties stretching from Forsyth to Franklin. It is a solid Republican district whose citizens share Robinson's conservative values," said Steve Arnold, Robinson's campaign manager and former Guilford County commissioner.
