Two inter-connected stories. What happens when the bush administration actually attacks Iran? Oil goes to what, 200 a barrel? More? What happens then to food prices? I wonder if they won’t be happy until this country is completely destroyed.

Oil prices surged past $143 a barrel for the first time ever Monday, and the price for a gallon of gas hit an all-time high in the United States.

Supply concerns and a fragile global economy continue to drive the price of oil to new highs, as well as continued tensions in the Middle East.

"The main factors behind the rise today are the U.S. dollar remains fragile and geopolitical tensions, particularly surrounding Iran," said David Moore, a commodity strategist at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in Sydney. "That's unsettling for the oil market."
Over the weekend, Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned that Tehran would respond to an attack against it by barraging Israel with missiles and controlling a key oil passageway in the Persian Gulf.

Israel is going to war with Iran solo.. we will merely supply them weapons and some logistical support.

I've been told by cons for a couple years, that the price is linked to business cycles demands of supply and demand. standard economics. Don't blame bush!

I don’t know ,but some of the signals are alarming. Cheney wants to.
 
Guys its far to late to stage an attack on IRAN. that would take much longer to build up and position. Bush is out of time. Israel knows it and its why they are now prepping it to go it alone with some proxy backing from US.

TEHRAN, Iran - The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards said the country would impose controls on shipping in the vital Gulf oil route if Iran was attacked, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

Fear of an escalation in the standoff between the West and Iran, the world's fourth-largest oil producer, have been one factor propping up sky-high oil prices. Crude hit a record level on international markets near $143 a barrel on Friday.

Speculation about a possible attack on Iran because of its disputed nuclear ambitions has risen since a report this month said Israel had practiced such a strike, prompting increasingly tough talk of retaliation, if pushed, from Tehran.

Everyone knows the consequences of yet another foolish attack and any participation by the US.

Yet democracy provides no mechanism to stop them.
 
Whilst attacking Iran was part of the Bush plan, that has been scratched due to sagging popularity numbers, a weakened military, a sagging economie, and a Democratic Congress.
