I think history has shown, over and over and over again, however you approach it, Communism is only "Right" for the party elite, everyone else suffers horribly.

Ok, I'll give it a try...

I cannot say that being casual about Communism/Authoritarianism will be easy for me.

I am old, probably older than the majority of the people who use the internet, much less those who are interested in political discussion forums.

I spent the greater part of my life working for the U.S. Govt. indirectly, and spent a fair amount of time in troubled foreign countries.

I've seen too much of what Communismist/Authoritarian Governments have wrought, in bloodshed, corruption, abuse, and misuse of power, to be completely at ease with lampooning it.

With so many in the main stream media talking with glee about the American "Transformative Revolution" or the "Post-Capitalism" approach, I find myself under the classic Chinese Curse; Interesting Times indeed.

Profanity is every the refuge of the weak, frieghtened, and guilty.

Simply is not true.

"Shred the Social Safety Net" has no more basis in truth than any of the other hyperbole often spouted by the radical left such as:

Starve Children
Shove Grandma off a cliff
Draconian Cuts ( for increases in spending...)
Lynch XYZGroup

the list goes on and on and on...

The reality is that the Political Right does not, never has had, and will never have the political power to do any such things. It is not in the basic nature of Conservatives to support radial options.

On the other hand, the world wide history of the radical Political Left is replete with example after of example of actually achieving what would in sane times be considered hyperbole.

The Five Leaders who are guilty of history's largest crimes of Genocide, killing a large portion of their own country's population:

Stalin
Mao
Pol Pot
Sadam Husien
Hitler

All had one thing in common; they all rose to power using ethnic socialist political appeal.
