A prominent Australian psychologist has expressed his concern about the mental wellbeing of teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg.
As the Swedish 16-year-old made global headlines following her blistering address to the United Nations conference on climate change on Monday, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg has compared her fame to that of a child star, and voiced his concern about the risk of ‘burn out’.
Speaking to Australian radio station 3AW on Wednesday, Dr Carr-Gregg spoke of his anxiety surrounding Greta Thunberg’s mental health: ‘I worry about her going the same as child TV stars, that they just burn out and potentially have a disastrous psychological outcome.’
