Why Do American Voters like Stupidity rather than Intelligence as Presidential Trait?

Have you ever wondered why some Americans say they want to vote for the Presidential nominee that they can have a beer with rather than the smart one trying to combat global warming....

Why do Americans love this notion of stupidity? Would you rather have a dumb President you can have a beer with or a smart President who wants to solve global problems???

I don't know why they do that.

Then again we, in Britain, voted for a really intelligent Prime Minister who wanted to solve global problems and he ended up agreeing with the dumb American one that invading countries starting with vowels was a brilliant idea.

So i don't think we can be too smug.
