A felon gets released from prison 28 days earlier, after serving 9 years in prison. He almost immediately gets a gun in a "private sale", no background check required. He was firing a 50 round drum, which is completely legal in that state. Needless to say, he tried to kill a police officer, and an innocent citizen.
