Why historians believe Cinco de Mayo prevented the Confederacy's win in the Civil War

We fight, We win
French Emperor Napoleon III had planned to trade weapons for cotton with Confederate states during France's invasion of Mexico.

However, Mexico's resolve at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 prevented France from supplying weapons to the Confederacy during the Civil War.

France retreated to Veracruz for a year giving the Union Army enough time to rack up victories against the Confederacy and end the war in 1865.

As people across the country indulge in Cinco De Mayo celebrations with margaritas and tacos, few may know about the connection the holiday has to US history.

Good screw the French.

As for cinco de mayo in America it's just another over commercialized "holiday". Fools

Still, Guno, I find it impossible to believe that those fucking crackers ever had a scintilla of a chance at winning that war.
My gang wasn't here yet, but if we were, I would have advocated for letting the toothless goobers go their merry way.
Slavery would still have collapsed as it did shortly afterwards in Brazil, the only Western nation that still had it after us.

The South had no way of keeping up with the industrial output of the North and they also couldn’t sustain the heavy loss of life like the North could.

The South needed a quick victory and Lee knew this but once his attempt failed it was just a matter of time.

Their only other option was outside support and while Britain and France did support the South Lincoln had gotten Russia to side with the North and convinced them to park warships off our coast.

Any nation trying to tesupply the South faced a war with Russia and that was enough to prevent foreign intervention

Have you got a good source for that? Russia was still reeling from its crushing defeat by Britain and France in the Crimean War five years before. I doubt if the Kremlin would have wanted a re-match any time soon.

The British government of the time did allow warships to be built for the Confederacy.
