Why is educating about Tubman bad?

Where are the museums? Are the monuments destroyed? Kept in storage because there are no museums?

Is it cheaper to build a large museum with all of these monuments or just surround the old monuments with monuments to Civil Rights leaders? Women's Suffrage? Where are the statues to Alice Paul? Frederick Douglas? Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. William H. Barnes?

Weren't the Confederate monuments built in their honor?

Here's the NY Transit Museum honoring her.

Yes, as I pointed out, Ms. Graham only recently has gotten recognition, and that's local to NYC for the most part. Parks has numerous statues and other museum displays that include her, and the Left cites her as a civil rights icon. She did virtually nothing to further civil rights other than a minor act of civil disobedience, something the Left gobbles up.

Yes, based on observation. Look at Dutch Dork's post above. The usual popular litany for the Left on this. For example, there is only one statue of Elizabeth Jennings Graham, but there are many of Rosa Parks, and Graham's statue in NYC was only recently put on display.

You made the claim that the Left hates her.

Here's one more: https://history.nycourts.gov/elizabeth-jennings-streetcar-desegregation-in-nyc/

It isn't, but it does in a sense, deify one minor player in a much bigger part of history. The Left likes to do this, find a single person that fits their dogma and then anoint them as the be-all, end-all of something. It's like they grant sainthood to them. All others are ignored. It's a perversion of history.

As another example of this, compare Rosa Parks who did nothing other than object to changing seats and getting arrested to ZERO change in anything to Elizabeth Jennings who got similar treatment on the NYC trolly system of her time and subsequently won in court and got the system desegregated.

The Left loves Parks because she's a nothing who resisted futilely. The Left hates Jennings because she was an intelligent, well-educated, and successful woman from an upper middle-class family who successfully fought the system using the existing rules.

Your claim that the Left hates her is false.

In honor to the traitors? Wouldn't it send the wrong message?
How could they be traitors if they were defending their country meaning their state? The whole "the United States are" in 1860 versus "the United States is" in 1870 thing.

Just so we're clear, I'm not advocating building new Confederate memorials. I'm only against tearing down history.

Again, the choice is "do we seek division" or "do we seek unity"?

My fellow teachers have known me for many many years...my last twenty were at the same school....;) They know exactly who I am... Not a single thing I post here would surprise anyone.... let alone offend them... They've known about this place since the threat to come to school and the pool...😉

More like ignores. She doesn't fit their dogma. It'd be like some successful White guy getting say, universities desegregated today. The Left would ignore that guy because he isn't one of them regardless that what he did was something they'd--at least in theory--champion.
And yet with all the examples I've given they are not ignoring her.

Weren't the Confederate monuments built in their honor?
Yes, but not in about the past 100 years.

Notice that where the statues were torn down, no new ones were built, AFAIK. Just green grass. The Left has destroyed our history as solidly as Pedo Don is destroying DEI.

Not sure about the Left destroying the history but here's where it bit some guy in the ass.
