If I could skate, I sure would! It's so beautiful!
You've missed out the fun.
I tried when I was young, but poor balance and spindly ankles were not working. Love watching ppl skate -- it's so graceful, like flying. Do you skate?
Been a long time. I used to inline skate all the time. Loved it.

Same here. I tried once but couldn't even stand up on the skates for 10 seconds.
Hubby and I did a lot of cross country, the kids not so much, they did snowboarding.Nordic (cross-country) skiing is huge here. In the summer we often see individuals and teams practicing. They wear long ski-like contraptions with inline skate wheels on roads and paved trails. It looks like fun!
We had a chair for the adults and a bucket for the kids, great way to learn!Same here. I tried once but couldn't even stand up on the skates for 10 seconds.
Ditto. And man, did your ankles hurt the next day!
We’d put the skates on the kids and have them walk around the house. It helped build their ankle strength.Ditto. And man, did your ankles hurt the next day!
Interesting!I didn't even get to the stage where my ankles worked! It was a balance problem, the same thing happened when I was trying to learn to ski.

Yes, made of rubber, slipped over the blade. A good friend of ours owned the pro shop, so we got a deal on our skates, they had a great trade in program, too! What is that? Something that fits over the blades?
