can't take care of their basic necessary needs.....ie, Soc. Sec. the system paid for by all citizens throughout their working years to ensure an income for their non-working years....it was not supposed to be a government handout by any stretch of the imagination even though the left has attempted to push it in that direction since its inception by including so, so many others to be cared for under same umbrella.....(creeping socialism?)......
Its seems any type of 'charity' is now being defined as "socialism" by those that want to drive the country in that direction.....

To spin the facts that people WORKING for the government, people WE HIRE (police and firefighters, armed services, government agencies, school teachers) to do the jobs they FOR US is now thought of as socialism is just plain bullshit.....its capitalism at its finest.

That's why every country that implemented government medical never reverted to a "pay or suffer" system. Not one exception and bear in mind every plan is different, yet, every plan is better than the former "pay or suffer" plans which they all started out having.

If you Google life expectancy you'll see many of them have the same or greater citizen life expectancy.

Opposition to a government plan has nothing to do with higher cost or lower quality of care or even the logistics on how to implement one. The cost is lower, the quality of care is good based on life expectancy and considering there are dozens of government plans in operation there are templates available. There is only one reason....well, actually two... for the opposition and that's greed by people involved in the medical business and by people who have been lied to and believe the lies such as death panels, etc.

The Republican Party is now in the full control of those who manipulated the Tea Party. Division is their goal .. and it has been glaringly obvious on center stage as they swept through the Republican Party and got rid of the moderates. It's either their way of the highway.

They have no use for fluffy things like accomodation or perspective.

They fact that they now claim that America is divided .. and its Obama's fault .. is a clear demonstration of their disconnect from the real world.

Anyway, here is a new perspective to ponder.
The TP was and is a grass roots endeavor by those Conservatives that differ with the mainstream Republicans, true but not a bad thing if you ignore the radicals that want to be seen with them, as the left certainly ignores the radicals within their own ranks.......

......those politicians, R's and D's, alike, that have been entrenched in DC for decades, living on the public dole and getting rich on the public dime are, a, or the problem....as you wash your hands just imagine its those cats, one intertwined with the other, in harmony. We, the people have created this monster with our inflexibility, and getting rid of what you call R "moderates" (a mischaracterization), is just the medicine we need.....to create some change on at least on one side of the coin.....to bad the left doesn't have the same sort of attitude for change.....

Who had mentioned anything about “as much as” anyone else? No one is asking for as much food or as much shelter or as much clothing or even as much medical care. Obama is trying to rectify the division we already see when one person can afford a doctor and a hospital room that resembles a room at Trump Tower and the other person can’t get a doctor and a Motel 8 room.

Obama is not dividing the people. He’s showing the people the divide that already exists. Big difference.
