Radical imam OK but not Chick-fil-A

It's all about freedom of religion, right?

The president of Chik Filet said what he said because of his religious beliefs. They operate a family owned business How is it that freedom of religion protects the Imam but not the president of a restaurant chain?

The left is rife with hypocrisy, it's almost like some kind of sick game with them!

They ask a Christian man who doesn't open on Sundays, how he feels about homosexuality, and then act shocked that he doesn't support it.

They will organize a boycott to not buy Chicken sandwiches from a man who thinks homosexuality is wrong, but when are they going to stop buying gasoline because the OPEC president believes homosexuals should be executed?

Who's denying the Chik Fil A president his religious freedom? He can believe and say whatever he wants. And I can decide to never spend another penny to enrich his bigoted ass. That's me exercising my freedom.

Of course, I don't eat chicken, anyway.....so I'll just be sure to tell my carnivorous friends about it....

And that is your (and every Amican's) right. Just as Huckabee and his 300,000+ folks have a right to have their Chick fil A day. I think what most folks On the right are upset about are the political figures who, on the spur of the moment after the statement became public, vowed to do their best to block any Chick fil A from their cities. That is where most of the argument ha been directed, other than some of the cartoons I have seen.

And I would agree with you that that's asinine. Let the People decide for themselves.

Chick-Fil-A is now a new favorite for me. Thank God somebody still has the balls to say in public what he believes, and to hell with the pervert heathens on the Left.

I love it.

Well you know, I never have really been a fan of Chik-fil-a. My daughter LOVES it, and I have HAD to eat there, and it was okay... a dry hunk of chicken on a bun for $5... nothing I would normally go for. But with all this hoopla from the left, I think I might have to go on August 1st. In fact, I am going to get my daughter and we're going to have lunch there. It's just the principle of the matter to me, and the libs can go to Hell.

funniest stuff ever and SOOOOOO true. they opened up one down south of us and we tried it........gag me.

btw dixie....we out on the west coast only paid $3.00. i guess the southerners will pay $2.00 more for the same piece of chicken, yet, won't pay more for our scenic coastal living.

From MY perspective, this doesn't really have anything to do with how you feel about gay people. If the situation were reversed, and Cathy had given an opinion in FAVOR of homosexuality, and Christian groups were trying to destroy him and boycott, I would be the same way about it. I don't think it is right for us, as citizens, to turn like rabid dogs on others, because they express a viewpoint that differs from our own. This is ALL about his right to freely express his opinion.

I would say that you don't understand the laws of this nation.

You say you're a christian. If that is the case, then I suggest you prayerfully examine the Bible. I guarantee you will find zero support for gay marriage in there.

You are correct. But Jesus also told to render unto Caesar what is Caesar's, meaning the secular laws are what they are.

I have no conflict being a Christian and also supporting the recognition of gay marriage by the gov't.

Not so, according to a good many Christians. Jesus kicked over the money tables in the temple... if his philosophy was as you say, this would never have happened... render unto Caesar... it was Caesar's law to do this, and Jesus very strongly objected. If Jesus had practiced what you are preaching here, he would have never been crucified. It was literally his defiant challenge of Caesar's law on religious principle, which cost him his life. So no... Jesus never said you have to put up with whatever immoral shit your government shells out.

Jesus was angry because they were turning his Father's house into a house of trade. The money changing and trade were not what made him angry, per se. That they were doing it in the temple is what pissed him off so much.

Jesus was crucified because he upset the jewish leaders, not the secular ones. The jewish leaders were the ones who set him up and insisted that he be crucified. Pontius Pilate went to some lengths to have him freed. It was the religious leaders that wanted him dead.

"Words have consequences..."

Isn't that what they bleated when they boycottted the Dixie Chicks for merely having an opinion?
