Well, we're 24ish hours into the Olympics and though I don't give a damn about most events, or countries (or anything), I am sure some of you smelly proles do.

So here is the medal count and Olympic discussion thread. I'll update it about once a day.

Current tally (only top 5 nations, I'm not listing every god damned one)

#1. China. 4 gold,0 silver, 2 bronze
#2. Italy. 2 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze
#3. America (FUCK YEAH!). 1 gold, 2 silver, 2 bronze
#4. Brazil. 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze
#4. South Korea. 1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze.

actually, i did go and look over all the events...will be a bit much. i think doing so for gold medals would be cool though and i can help with that.
 
I thought the Olympics are supposed to be apolitical? Shouldn't we be rooting for the best athletes and to hell with which country wins the most medals?

Absolutely not!! Don't you have a favorite football team. I know you have a favorite baseball team. My favorite Olympic team is the USA! Go team! :)

Where would you like them to go. If they go anywhere but where they are now they wont win anything!

Sheesh, I just asked a question. Besides, I'm not an ignorant right wing redneck. Which means by definition I contribute more to my country on an average day then you will in a lifetime of serving French Fries. To bad you never learned how to think for yourself. Then you could have been productive too. :)
 
I root for the good ol' USA, but it's hard w/ the hoops team. They're too dominant, and it's no fun.

I miss the days when they only allowed college players.
