I am sure it is coming. Apple will be here telling us how hard it is for coloreds to graduate high school, get a full time job and not have babies before they get married. Maybe it is genetic or something

That is, until boomers kill the economy with a top heavy ponzi sheme and medicare system that ensures the kids stay poor by taxing them to support the upper crust. Add in corporate welfare, barriers to market entry and various schemes to reduce income mobility and you have the ingredients for a battle. Not the kind you were hoping for, but hey as long as it all goes to hell who cares about the details, right?

It is not a different discussion. Young people are soon going to be buried under this and I doubt any bit of junk you own will help when it hits the fan. Better start pushing for an end to corporate welfare, transfer payments to the upper quintile and get off all the racist nonsense.

Our economic troubles are NOT insurmountable. Yes, even if you stop being counter prodcutive it may still be difficult to affect change. I certainly don't see how you think your preparations will help.

Alright, let me explain it in terms a faux libertarian like you can understand (although I am dubious). It doesn't matter who wins the election. Let me repeat. It doesn't matter who wins the election. That is why I am voting for Calvin Coolidge.

The debt that is on the books is $16 trillion. That is 100% of our GDP. The American people don't get it. They squawk about cutting spending until someone talks about one of their gobblement benefits then they raise a shit fit and then it doesn't get cut. Allow me to give you some of the reasons we will never cut spending.

1) It benefits old fuckers. Well, we can't touch that spending
2) It benefits little fuckers. Well, we gotta keep paying for the kiddies and their Headstart, SCHIP, free lunch, free breakfast, free phones etc
3) It benefits veterans.
4) It benefits poor fuckers. We gots ta pay fo da heat and da phone and da lectric and da water and the colt 45 etc

Add it all up and you ain't cutting shit out of the budget. You will yammer about it, but it aint getting done. So instead you will say "Hey, I have a wonderful idea, lets tax the rich. They don't need it and they stole it from the po anyway". Except, they don't have enough money to pay for all the shit that we owe.

So how will this all come tumbling down? No I don't believe in some mayan calendar or some zombie apocalypse, but I do believe that one day there is going to be a debt auction and nobody is going to show up. Right now the Fed is buying up almost all of our debt. How long do you think that can keep up sparky?

Did you see durable good orders? It spells recession.

So, as I said. I could play the my side is better than your side game, but it don't matter. So I am preparing for my own personal well being. How hard is it to understand? Junk silver is the only thing to own when our fiat money is finally kaput. Gold bullion? The gobblement tracks that and confiscates it even today. But silver is still official US currency. I get as much as I can get my hands on. If you don't understand why, then PM me. For a small fee, I will explain it to you

Of course those three steps work. But if some jackass ships the jobs overseas, step #2 can become exceedingly difficult. Without a job, poverty is virtually assured.

But then, you could still point to your three steps and say that would solve it all.

Agreed!

I imagine when your high school falls into decay and your neighborhood is overrun with crime, graduating from high school can be challenging (understatement). I remember how stressful finals were. Imagine trying to study for an AP exam with gunshots and police sirens all night, and your cousins getting shot or your father getting arrested, and your mother working two jobs. You grow up seeing that very few, if any, kids make it out of your neighborhood to a better life. Your self-esteem is formed by food stamps, public hospitals, people in the nicer areas always looking down on you.

PTSD - very real in the most violent and troubled neighborhoods.

Poverty is it's own cause.

completely disagree as i'm a prime living example of someone who not only followed those three rules, but went one further and didn't have children. I'm still living in poverty.
