Piers Morgan getting Dixie-chicked

The gunners are circulating a petition to get Piers deported for advocating the ban of assault weapons on his show.

People shouldn't be so afraid of opinions. Yeah, I know - the petition is also part of "free speech," but it's the equivalent of just saying "shut up." If you don't like the opinion, offer one of your own.

Funny you were all about consequences when it was Chick Fil A. Now all of a sudden you got your knickers in a twist.

Let the Limey prick live with the consequences of his actions. He can't take his dumb ass back to the gunless UK

more onceler hypocrisy

he doesn't care one wit and often supports such actions when the left engages in it, but he has a real problem when the right does it

i think the entire thing about morgan is stupid. however, he is free to offer his opinion and others are free to offer theirs.

Did you support the people who tried to silence Rush Limbaugh by trying to get his advertisers to drop him?

The deportation thing is stupid and shows that Right Wingers have no clue how immigration works. That being said I am all for people trying to pressure advertisers to drop one person or another by threatening a boycott of the product. It doesn't work and is basically an empty act, but go for it. Use your purchasing power to try to sway opinion. That is a pretty good attempt at embracing your capitalist self.

One of the better lines I've heard is right along with what you just stated and that's people vote with their dollars. You can choose to support or not support certain individuals, companies, businesses etc. with what you purchase (or listen to or watch as the case may be). Like you said, that's capitalism in action.

The petition may be an exercise of free speech but they are advocating government sanctions against an individual for exercising his free speech. It's hypocritical as hell.

Thanks for proving again your inability to think. Those two don't even compare. No one was asking the Federal government to sanction Chik-Fil-A for their CEO's asinine opinion. It amazes me that rednecked gun nuts put 2nd amendmet rights before first amendment rights and then they wonder why the rest of the world considers these kind of one issue fanatics to be morons of the highest caliber.

Sure and I agree with that. Where these clowns cross the line with their petition is their desire to silence an individual who's opinion is unpopular with them using the force of the Federal Government. What collosal fucking hypocrits.

It's funny how your mind immediately goes to a "they do it too!"

I've been pretty consistent on this. I don't like boycotts, or efforts to intimidate someone into silence. To me, that isn't speech.

But it's not free speech when it's against the right, remember?
You give them far to much credit. I seriously doubt that they have thought any further than their 2nd amendment fanaticism and are to stupid to realize that what they are petitioning for is a violation of free speech rights.

I agree the petition (to the federal government) is a stupid thing.

Hey dumb ass didn't you read the part where I said I don't agree with it?

But this is the kind of shit you left wingers get when you polarize the country. It is inevitable and will only get worse

Again, not a valid comparison. They weren't calling upon the Federal government to shut rush up.

Rush Limbaugh needs to be silenced by FCC, argue Gloria Steinem, Jane Fonda and Robin Morgan
They urge listeners to pressure FCC to yank licenses of stations that air his radio show

Talk like this has been going on for more than a decade...so

If you don't know wtf you're talking about, stfu

What do you think this shit was all about ?
The fairness doctrine was a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) policy. The FCC believed that broadcast licenses (required for both radio and terrestrial TV stations) were a form of public trust and, as such, licensees should provide balanced and fair coverage of controversial issues.

The whining Democrats were all for this kind of regulation....if they were successful, MSNBC would be off the air...
