Same-sex couples begin marrying

Get behind me Satan I preach truth, you are an affront to creation by practicing homosexuality, and saying it is natural, and you were created by God to be that way. Repent of your sins, and accept that Christ died for your sins, or burn in Hell.

Yeah, faux Christians aren't coutrageous enough to bring the death of sinners about by themselves, they leave it up to their god to smite those they hate! Lol

And you are welcome to that belief. I will defend your right to have those beliefs.

However, you are not allowed to demand that the nation follow your religious laws. You are not allowed to base laws solely on the dogma of your faith. And you cannot claim that "natural" in your religion has any place in our nation's laws.

He is allowed to demand it all he wants, luckily if we follow the Constitution his demands will continue to be ignored.

So the fact that numerous animals practice homosexuality does not make it "natural", but the fact that it is condemned by your book makes hating homosexuality "natural"? lol

The thing is, your faith is fine for you. But it is not to be used for making laws for everyone.

If you belive homosexuality is a sin, or unnatural... Dont be a homosexual. Problem solved.

Well by all means point to where I said I want a theocracy practice what you will it does not change the fact that there is one God of all, who created all.

Rather than spouting your religious beliefs, give us a reason the US Gov't should not recognize same sex marriages and give them the same benefits that straight marriages enjoy.

That is not a religious issue.

Like a monkey pounding away at a keyboard sooner of later you type something that makes sense. I'm glad that you agree with me that homosexuality is a choice.

Good point, I was wrong... I should amend that to say... "Dont practice homosexuality."

I dont know if it is a choice or not, to me that is not relevant.

I could care less if its a choice or not.

If its a choice people should be free to choose it. If its not a choice, people should be free to practice it.

Wow, nice skewering of Damn Southerner, there, Sol.
3D is now assuming the subservient role of cheerleader, along with Rana the exclamation point.

Tell your bum-buddy that there's nothing natural about spreading your seed into other men's anuses.

If you are born with blond hair, it should be your choice to dye it red if you want.

You had your guard down and the truth slipped out. Best be more careful whilst in liberal company or face ridicule, name-calling and chastising.

Again, I dont care or know if its a choice or not. If that opens me to ridicule, I dont care. As you might be able to tell from my reaction to the conservatives on this board, ridicule does not affect me or my comfort level.

I feel sure that some "homosexual" people were not born that way. It does not change my opinion about the issue.

I dont see it as born one way or the other, humans have a tendency to be born into a scale. There are thousands of shades of blond hair for example, in fact its very common for a person to be born blond and then have there hair darken as they age.

I also belive that people are often born on a scale of sexuality and may be fixed at that point or travel along that scale.

Many humans for example are almost certantly not born Monogmous, but often chose to live that way. Sexual behavyor can be a choice, and a choice can be made despite a tendancy. That does not make any choice wrong or right, it simply makes it a choice.

Again, I dont care or know if its a choice or not.

Research shows that, like always, there is a factor of both nature and nurture. Completely denying one is kinda silly, esp if it conflicts with your very own philosophies. I've come to see it as the difference between heritable and inherited. There is a heritable predisposition to certain events that is inherited.

I have to agree. That does not change however my position on Gay rights or issues.

I have always thought it was silly to focus on if its "natural" or not. Or if people are born that way or not...

With this logic you could them make the following argument:

"That does not change however my position on bestiality. I have always thought it was silly to focus on if its "natural" or not. Or if people are born that way or not..."

Since the discussion is concerning marriage between consenting adults, adding the bestiality is simply a diversion.

That something is "natural" or not has no bearing on whether the federal gov't recognizes the relationship.

DY, you have defended the gov't intervention into marriage by saying that society benefits from stable, long-term relationships. The problem is, you have never answer my question of what a straight couple's marriage gives to society that a gay couple's does not (except for children concieved without outside assistance).
