Obama breaking his old records, what a guy

I didn't proclaim Reid was or was not doing anything. I explained what people generally mean when they say that the Republicans are being "obstructioninst" because you were apparently confused on that point.

And, no, the Democrats are not blocking Republican bills. You see, generally speaking, in order for a bill to pass the Senate a majority of Senators must vote in favor of the bill. A bill that has less than majority support -- like the dumbass bills that the House Republicans pass -- can't be "blocked" or "obstructed" because they don't have majority support in the first instance. (I guess Harry Reid could bring them to the floor to have them voted down if that would make you happy. I'll email him and aks him since your happiness should be the world's first priority.)

By contrast, bills that do have majority support and that would pass on a straight up-or-down voted are routinely blocked from coming up for a vote in the Senate by the Republican minority. That's obstructionism, my friend. Also, too, the method of obstruction employed by the Senate Republicans cannot be duplicated in the House.

So what you're claiming is....that every bill that comes to a vote in the Senate gets passed because they have majority support in order to come up for a vote....
The Senate NEVER votes a bill down....

do you actually believe that shit....you and the Tekky fool....????
Are you two actually that ignorant ?

I didn't proclaim Reid was or was not doing anything.

Yes... you most certainly did...

No, lil parrot, I am not the one that is confused. You most certainly are. You cannot even remember what you said from one post to the next.

Yes dear lil parrot, they most certainly are.

Pure nonsense. They most certainly can be blocked from that same up/down vote you just parroted about. It is absurd of you to pretend otherwise.

You go right ahead and email Reid, I am sure he anxiously awaits word from you.

Dear parrot, the roles are reversed in the House, where those bills do have majority support. That is the point you insufferable moron. The two Houses are doing the same fucking thing because they cannot compromise. Yet lil parrots like you continue to pretend it is just the Reps that are obstructing the other parties bills.

So tell us lil parrot... If the Senate knows the House won't pass the bill, then why would it matter to you that the Reps won't bring it up for a vote? because they would know it doesn't have the majority support needed to pass.

Whatever you say lil parrot.

Tell us, how many of the jobs bills that the House passed did Reid bring to the Senate for a vote?

Oh yeah...more civil debate from another whiny Rightie.

Why is it the only two comebacks you've got are answering a question with another question, or to engage, as you did above, in the same tired derision and name calling?

You just ducked Althea's question by "answering" her question with another question, and then when dung points out a fact about Senate Righties you go for the ad hom.

Yes... you most certainly did...

My God you're such a condescending prick!

Can you imagine Superfreak on a date? Or just imagine him trying to make conversation with a woman at a happy hour. I know I would be totally like, are you out of your f'ing mind?

So when he tells us emphatically that 'it isn't the same in reverse', then proclaims that he didn't just tell us that... I should go easy on the poor fool?

Cute how you continually defend him though. Tell us, why is it that his non-stop condescension doesn't draw your ire?

You have nothing to worry about... that situation would never transpire.

That said, the complete irony in your post is not lost on me.

Once, when I was in ST Maarten, this french guy was totally trying to hit on me at the bar, and so after a bit of small talk he tells me that Americans are the stupidest people and the only ones in the world who only know one language. You could tell he had some experience at charming american girls with his , oh i'm such an intellectual stchick. I was like, well, I don't know any American guys dumb enough to try and pick up a girl using the line "you and your countrymen are so dumb the rest of us laugh at you"...of course, I didn't know Superfreak yet!

I pointed out to him that Americans only needed to know one language because wherever you go, anyone who wants to make money, speaks English. It was pretty funny.

Actually, no, the roles are not reversed in the House. The Democrats can't block anything in the House since it operates on pure majoritarian principles and the minority doesn't have the ability to filibuster. The roles would be reversed if (1) the House Democrats could filibuster or (2) the Senate Republicans could not filibuster, but that is not the way it works, unfortunately.

As I've said before, In a sane world, the House majority would pass its version of a bill, the Senate majority would pass its version of a bill, and then a conference committee would be appointed to work out a compromise bill for presentation to the two houses. But that's not how it works because the Senate Republicans are obstructionist and block the Senate majority from voting on bills that enjoy majority support.

So tell us lil parrot... If the Senate knows the House won't pass the bill, then why would it matter to you that the Reps won't bring it up for a vote? because they would know it doesn't have the majority support needed to pass.

See above re: conference committee.

Oh come on, your posts are just way overdone with the condescending contempt.

But they can block the House bills from coming to a vote in the Senate you douche bag. Which is precisely what Reid does. You think that because the mechanism is different that the obstruction is somehow not occurring. In reality, both parties are presenting bills they know the opposition will not agree to and then they are taking turns blocking each others bills with the means at their disposal.

But you pretend this is not the case... because you are a complete partisan hack.

Why are you even bothering to try and explain this to him?

You know he's just going to sit back and play the clueless rube once again, answering any question with another question so he doesn't actually have to answer anything put to him.

Are you two actually that ignorant ?

Who said that?

Right now, with the filibuster, a lot of bills which have majority support don't pass. THAT is what is wrong.

If we actually had majority rule in the Senate, then the minority party has the chance to convince some of the majority party to vote against the bill. And that certainly happens.

So when he tells us emphatically that 'it isn't the same in reverse', then proclaims that he didn't just tell us that... I should go easy on the poor fool?

Dung's problem appears to be that he's actually trying to have a discussion with you...complete with nuanced responses.

He doesn't understand you don't really care about discussion and all you want is another shot at hurling some more derision and petty taunts at him...i.e. your "poor little parrot" nonsense.

You have a really weird definition of "blocking" and "obstruction." I've seen and heard my fair share of unmitigated horseshit over the years, but pretending that the majority party is engaged in "obstruction" and "blocking" legisltation simply by virtue of acting like the majority party easily makes a top-5 contribution. The further argument that the majority party acting like the majority party is the exact same thing as the minority party making unprecedented use of the filibuster to force pretty much any susbtantive legislation to require a 60 vote supermajority to pass easily puts it in the top-3. LOLers.

But you pretend this is not the case... because you are a complete partisan hack.

Yes, I "pretend" that the majority party acting as the majority party is not obstruction, not because the majority party doing exactly that is how the system has worked for 200 years, but because I'm a hack -- nay -- a "complete partisan hack." LOL.

So in other words, OK for you to make baseless allegations.

Oh I could easily answer your question...my time is just too important to be wasting it answering a question from you when I know you will just ignore what I've written and instead once again respond with more taunts and derision.
