Desh, you are a moron. All of last week we were told by you and others on this board (not to mention your master Obama) that the Reps should pass a CLEAN bill and THEN negotiate.

Now the Reps say ok and the DEMS say NO to a clean bill.

Did you notice the part of the article where the govt would be funded at the Ryan budget level, not the previously agreed upon level?

And if you didn't know, the Collins plan had more than spending in it -
But it also called for a two-year delay of a medical device tax in the health care law as well as an income verification requirement in order to qualify for Obamacare subsidies.

And that is the danger when you re-open negotiations like the repubs did - people might just choose to negotiate.

Now personally, I think we should go back to whatever the bill was that was passed by the Sentate right before the shutdown and have it passed by the house. That to me is cleanest. But apparently, the repubs have opened a can of worms, and it's hard to get them back in the can.
 
How about we fund the government at the level it needs functioning to operate like we want it to.

No, a CLEAN bill raises the debt ceiling without qualifications. You know, that thing that the Dems last week said they wanted. Obama, Reid, Pelosi etc... were all stomping their feet and screaming how the Reps were holding a gun to the head of Americans.
 
Well, when your opponent chooses a battle and loses, he does not got to go back to where he started. I don't like the win lose mentality, but that's the current culture in Congress.
 
The R's chose to fight and lost. They don't get to go back to the starting point.
