The Obama administration and the Mount Soledad Memorial Association, which erected the cross, appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court, supported by 20 U.S. states and various veterans groups in arguing the cross should be allowed as part of the memorial.


well the cons are going to be really confused on how to stand on this one.

Pathetic; but the loons from the left will be dancing in the streets. Ventura solved their cross memorial issue by selling the tiny piece of land it stands on to a private organization to preserve it for $1.

It has nothing to do with being leftist. They are intolerant of the violation of the constitution's prohibition against government endorsement of religion.

It isn't "endorsement" of religion you moron, it is the "establishment" of religion.

Now please tell me how erecting a cross to memorialize veterans is the "establishment" of a religion by Government. God you people are dumb.

Can you give me a little background on the establishment clause? What was the purpose of it? Who wrote it? I just need to know a little history about it.

Yes, you really are THAT incredibly stupid.

For other clueless dimwits who struggle with the English language and comprehending the Constitution; endorsing does not equal establishment and the Constitution does not ban religion, it prevents the State from establishing a religion citizens must adhere to.

The historic reasons are clear; our founders had come to this land to escape State sanctioned persecution of religion. European nations sanctioned and "required" their citizens to abide by the States religion. Our founders wanted to ensure that our nation allowed for religious freedom, but NOT freedom FROM religion; contrary to many dullard arguments desperately trying to destroy our culture and morality.
