Less Republicans believe in Evolution today than in 2009

We all can trace our ancestry back to Africa you moron.

Ever notice that the further humans get from the equator, the lighter their skin became over time? It takes many generations for the adaptation to occur when moving away from the equator... but it does occur. Which is why people in nordic countries are so fair skinned. It is in our nature to adapt to our surroundings. The further north you get, the less sun exposure you have, thus the whiter the skin became. The closer you get to the equator, the darker the skin. It is an adaptation to exposure to UV rays from the sun.

So when did the white apes come around?

LMAO... so you think African Apes of today are the same as humans of today? You don't see any differences?

I am not an expert on evolution moron, but that does not mean I disagree with the science of it. you fucking moron.

As for brushing up... we most certainly did take a separate evolutionary path from Apes of today. That is why they are not human you moron. Saying we are are all part of the Great Ape family doesn't mean all are the same.

Of course, it does not mean they are all the same. You are stupider than I thought.

All oranges are fruits. All apples are fruits. No oranges are apples and no apples are oranges. Not all fruits are oranges. Not all fruits are apples.

All humans are apes. All gibbons are apes. No humans are gibbons and no gibbons are humans. Not all apes are humans. Not all apes are gibbons .

Are you following? Humans/gibbons are to apes as oranges/apples are to fruits. Still there?

I see a difference between chimps and orangutans or gibbons and gorillas. They are still all apes.

We are not that distinct from apes. Again, chimpanzees are closer to us than they are to other apes. Gibbons are more unique among apes than humans, which is why they are excluded from the great apes.

Pejoratives aside you're actually correct. A common misconception of evolutoniary theory is the belief that humans are descended from ape when they are, in fact, completely different species. Evolutionary theory doesn't make such a prediction. Rather it predicts that apes and hominids (humans) evolved from a common ancestor.

That's pretty much the contemporary view however there is evidence to support that in human evolution that adaptations like skin color may have been a result of Eldridge/Gould's theory of punctuated equilibrium in which isolated geographical groups evolved these adaptation rapidly and migrated quickly outwards to expand those adaptations within the general population as opposed to phyletic gradualism where these adaptations are believed to have evolved slolwly over vast periods of time.

This would be an actual example of a true controversy in evolutionary theory.

He is not correct. We share a common ancestor with chimps and then if you go further back with other apes. But to place us in some distinct group would mean the other apes or great apes should share more in common with each other than with us. However, not only are chimps our closest relative we are theirs. There is no reason to place us into a separate group other than vanity.

I have to correct you here. Humans are not apes. They are completely different species from apes. Apes and Humans both belong to the Primate order and are part of the phylogenetic family Hominidae but they are different and distinct species.

2) Humans did not evolve from apes, but share a common ancestor, science is on my side on this one!

really?.....science can demonstrate that apes were created nearly identical to humans but without our mental capacity......remarkably similar DNA.....

She is correct to state that humans and apes of today have a common ancestor, the question is... what was that ancestor called?

It was millions of years ago... and frankly I cannot recall.

I think you're confusing your phylogenetic categories. I think you're confusing Apes with Primates. Both humans and apes belong to the phylogentic order called "Primates" but apes and humans are distinctly different speicies.

Though your main point is correct. Evolutionary theory does predict that we (humans) share a common ancestor with apes.

liberals and apes have a common ancestor.....conservatives were created.....

What is the name of the common ancestor?
