Three people were stabbed, including one who was critically wounded, and 13 were arrested when a Ku Klux Klan rally in Anaheim erupted in violence Saturday, police said.

A small group of people representing the Klan had announced that it would hold a rally at Pearson Park at 1:30 p.m., police said. By 11 a.m., several dozen protesters showed up at the park to confront the Klan.

About an hour later, several men in black garb with Confederate flag patches arrived and were escorted by police around the edge of the park.

At some point, a protester collapsed on the ground bleeding, crying that he had been stabbed.

A Klansman in handcuffs could be heard telling a police officer that he "stabbed him in self-defense." Several other people were also handcuffed.

Witnesses said the Klansmen used the point of a flagpole as a weapon while fighting with protesters.

Two other people were stabbed during the melee, said Sgt. Daron Wyatt of the Anaheim Police Department.

The Stump-for-Trump women went on CNN this week to spread the far right's new favorite rumor - that Marco Rubio has a shady gay past.

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/02/28/how-pro-trump-white-nationalists-tried-to-play-smear-the-queer-with-rubio.html

The Rubio rumor is now pushed by all kinds of unsavory characters, including staff at leading white-nationalist (and pro-Trump, no less) hate-site The Daily Stormer.

“Is Marco Rubio a Secret Homosexualist?” the headline blared.

“A couple weeks ago, an older female acquaintance of mine told me she thought Marco Rubio was ‘too handsome to be President,’ adding that ‘he looks like a GQ model,’” the post reads. “I [hadn’t] seriously consider[ed] the possibility that Marco is a secret queer.”

A video for Prison Planet (which was also promoted on Infowars, the website of conspiracy-theorist king and Trump fan Alex Jones) explored the question of whether or not Rubio mingled with gay prostitutes in 1990. Other, less popular, fringe websites have started to pile on, and photos of a gay nightclub foam-party that features a young man who sorta, kinda looks like a young Marco Rubio.

“Republican insiders have reported to WMR that Florida Senator and presidential candidate Marco Rubio was, as a high school and college student, known to be a very extroverted homosexual in both South Beach in Miami, a popular gay area, and at college in Gainesville, Florida,” according to a piece posted to conspiracy-theory-mongering site Before It’s News (which also labels Rubio a “Cristiano afeminado,” or a “Christian homosexual”).

The basis for much of the “secret queer” stories — which have now earned top billing on CNN daytime programming — is a true story about how Rubio's childhood buddy ended up being tied to an infamous gay-porn case in Miami. You mix that in with the fact that Rubio was once arrested at a park that was a hotspot for gay cruising, and you got yourself a wellspring of rumors, baseless accusations, and chain emails and comment threads. And earlier this year, those rumors were ardently stoked and circulated by Trump supporters to try to paint Sen. Rubio as a closeted homosexual.

A poll of South Carolina Republican primary voters confirms that, at least in South Carolina, Trump supporters are, "more intolerant of race and religious differences than average Republicans."

Thirty-one percent support a ban on homosexuals entering the U.S.

62 percent support a national Muslim database

40 percent support shutting down all mosques in the U.S.

33 percent believe Islam should be illegal in the U.S.

70 percent believe the Confederate flag should still be flying over the State Capitol

38 percent wish the South had won the Civil War (another 38 percent said they weren't sure, and only 24 percent were glad the North won).

Sounds more like Obama / Clinton / Sanders supporters were injured when they attacked a legal rally in an attempt to quash free speech.

Sorry to break it to you but here in the USA, even reprehensible, offensive speech is protected . . . there is no enforceable right to not be offended and it is a crime to attack those exercising their right to free speech.

Please don't be a complete asshole and say I'm a Klan supporter; I support the exercise of free speech without reservation or discrimination. The proper counter to offensive speech is not violence, it is reasoned and persuasive argument that defeats the statements of the (in this case) KKK.

Total and irredeemable thread fail for you!

"(CNN) Violence broke out Saturday when Ku Klux Klan demonstrators and counterprotesters fought in Anaheim, California, leaving five people injured and 13 people arrested, authorities said.

Anaheim police spokesman Sgt. Daron Wyatt said the KKK planned a "walking protest" at Pearson Park. The counterprotesters arrived beforehand and attacked when the KKK got out of their vehicles around noon, he said.

Several fights broke out along a city block involving six KKK members -- none wearing the traditional KKK robes -- and 30 counterprotesters.

Three counterprotesters were stabbed -- one with the decorative end of a flagstaff, one with a knife and one with an object the police did not describe, Wyatt said.

The person stabbed with the flagstaff was hospitalized in critical condition and the other two were in stable condition, police said.

Police witnessed one KKK demonstrator being stomped by by two male and a female counterprotesters. Another KKK member told police he'd been stomped and might have broken ribs, Wyatt said.

The first KKK member had minor injuries and was not hospitalized, police said, and the second one was hospitalized in stable condition.

Arrested were six male and one female counterprotesters and five male and one female KKK member, Wyatt said.

The district attorney's office will decide what, if any, charges will be filed, he said.

Wyatt said anyone with cell phone video of the fight should contract police.

The police department talked about the planned KKK protest on its Facebook page Friday, saying, "This group has held similar rallies throughout Orange County over the past few years. Members of the sponsoring group typically pass out literature and hold signs with messages, which while controversial, are protected by the First Amendment. APD will be monitoring the situation for any violations of law.""

So, up until people who think like you showed up and tried to crush free speech, there was no violence and no violation of law . . .

You'd describe that as being "injured"?

Gregory Hood, a writer who penned an essay in support of Trump for the white nationalist blog Radix. Hood wrote:

Trump is worth supporting. We need someone who can expose the system that rules us as the malevolent and worthless entity it is. We need someone who can break open public debate. We need someone who can expose and heighten the contradictions within the system. And we need someone who can call out the press, the politicians, and the pseudo-intellectuals as the empty shells they are.

Jared Taylor, considered one of the leading voices of the white nationalist movement, praised Trump's comments about Mexican immigrants in a video posted on the American Renaissance journal website:

Americans, real Americans have been dreaming of a candidate who says the obvious, that illegal immigrants from Mexico are a low-rent bunch that includes rapists and murderers.

Well, there's "injured" and "fatally injured" . . .

They ain't dead, so . . .

Where does it say they are Trump supporters? Or are you ASSuming?

Now this is where you play your little game of replying "did I say they were?"

When are you gonna run off in a huff again?

Are you saying that you think stabbing someone is an acceptable response during a disagreement over politics, as long as the wound isn't fatal?

No, not for a "disagreement".

But, upon being violently attacked by people who intend to injure, self -defense by the KKK members is an appropriate response and whatever "injuries" the counterprotestors / assaulter's had visited upon them are the prizes one gets for using offensive violence.

I've suggested before that the best way to handle groups like this, is not to argue and "confront" them; but instead to let them exercise their rights and stand around pointing at them and laughing.

Marco Rubio says Republican front runner Donald Trump is "wrong" to refuse to condemn former KKK leader David Duke.

Trump was asked during CNN's "State of the Union" whether he publicly condemns "the racism of former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke," who was recently quoted equating voting against Trump to treason.

Trump replied he didn't "know anything about David Duke."

He added: "You're asking me a question that I'm supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about."

Rubio says: "We cannot be a party who refuses to condemn white supremacists and the Ku Klux Klan."

He adds: "Not only is that wrong, it makes him unelectable."

The vehicle pulled up and three men got out and began to unload signs when the group of about 50 counter-protesters approached them, yelling and throwing sticks, witnesses said. . . .

"It was crazy,. . . This was not necessary, they should've just let the Klan protest. This is America, we have free speech.""

Another example of the tolerant, free-speech embracing left . . . as long as you are saying what they approve of.

How do you know that the counter-protesters were the tolerant, free-speech embracing left?

How do you know that the counter-protesters were the tolerant, free-speech embracing left?

By employing the same deductive powers you use to characterize the KKK as Trump supporters.
